President Droupadi Murmu expressed greetings to people of Odisha on Raja festival

President Droupadi Murmu expressed her greetings to the Odia community on the auspicious occasion of the Raja festival, which took place on Wednesday.

In a Twitter message, “I extend my heartfelt wishes to all the Odias on the agriculture-based festival, Raja. The festival is celebrated in Odisha for three days with zest. I wish prosperity and health to all the Odias out there and the whole of India.”

Raja is a vibrant and joyous festival celebrated with great enthusiasm in the state of Odisha, India. It is a significant agricultural festival that marks the onset of the monsoon season and pays homage to Mother Earth for her bountiful blessings.

The three-day Raja festival commenced on Wednesday, marking the beginning of the festivities in Odisha. The first day, known as Pahili Raja, sets the tone for the celebrations. It is a day of anticipation and preparation as people engage in cleaning their homes, decorating them with colorful rangolis, and making elaborate arrangements for the upcoming festivities. On the second day, Thursday, the celebration reaches its peak with Raja Sankranti. The third and final day of the Raja festival, known as Sesha Raja, falls on Friday.
