Contractor in Vigilance Snare

Koraput: Odisha Vigilance has reportedly arrested a contactor on charges of misappropriation of state government’s funds approximately Rs 57 lakhs in connivance with agriculture official. The arrested contactor has been identified as Laxmidhara Routaray.

Contactor was been arrested by Odisha Vigilance vide Koraput Vigilance PS Case No. 17 dated 24.04.2024 U/s 13(2) r/w 13(1)(a) P.C. Amendment Act, 2018 /316(5)/318(4)/336(3)/61(2) BNS for siphoning of government funds of Rs 56,93,957 in connivance with Harishchandra Bentkar, Soil Conservation Overseer, O/o ADSC (Assistant Director Soil Conservation cum Project Implementing Agency), Watershed, Khariar in Nuapada district without executing 22 numbers of Loose Boulder Check Dam .

The arrested accused contractor is being forwarded to court of Special Judge, Vigilance in Bhawanipatana.

Efforts are on to arrest the main accused Harishchandra Bentkar, the Soil Conservation Overseer and another contractor Abhilash Meher.

Further investigation is underway.
