Man Hacks Elder Brother to Death

Kandhamal: In a tragic incident, a man hacked his elder brother to death following a heated argument in Phiringia locality of Kandhamal district last night. The deceased has been identified as Narendra Bindhani.

As per reports, the incident took place in Dimiriguda village under Phiringia police limits when a heated exchange of words ensued between Narendra and his younger brother Karna Bindhani over some issue. Thereafter, some locals intervened and pacified the duo.

Later, when Narendra was sleeping outside his house, Karna hacked him with an axe and fled from the spot. A profusely bleeding Narendra was rushed to nearby healthcare facility where the doctors declared him dead. On getting the information, police arrived at the spot and seized the body. Subsequently, it was sent for post-mortem.

The deceased’s son has lodged a complaint with Phiringia police in this regard. On the basis of the complaint, the cops have initiated an investigation into the matter. A manhunt has been launched and the accused will be nabbed soon, said the police.
