Youth Murdered in Khordha, Police Suspect Past Rivalry

Khordha: A youth was allegedly murdered by unidentified assailants in Odisha’s Khordha district in the early hours of Friday, in what police suspect could be a fallout of past enmity.

The victim, identified as Manas Dalei from Nuagaon under Jatani police limits, was found lying in a pool of blood in the Sandhapur area, causing panic among locals.

Upon receiving information, police rushed to the scene and shifted Dalei to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Bhubaneswar, where doctors declared him dead on arrival.

Preliminary investigations suggest that Dalei was lured out of his house on some pretext before being attacked. While the exact motive remains unclear, officials believe the murder may be linked to a previous rivalry.

A probe has been launched, and efforts are underway to identify and trace the culprits. Dalei was reportedly a worker of the Biju Janata Dal (BJD).
