Youth Killed in Truck Accident, Locals Block NH-353

Nuapada: A tragic road accident claimed the life of a youth after a speeding truck crushed his bike in Odisha’s Nuapada district on Thursday. The incident occurred near a petrol pump in Udyanbandh along National Highway 353.

The deceased has been identified as Alekha Baghel from Kumutimunda.

According to reports, Baghel was riding his bike when a speeding truck coming from the opposite direction hit him, resulting in his death on the spot.

Following the accident, locals gathered at the scene and informed the police. Angered by the incident, they blocked the highway and demanded compensation for the victim’s family.

Komna Police arrived at the location to pacify the protestors and negotiate the lifting of the blockade. However, the road remained blocked at the time of reporting.
