Youth Killed by 11 in Cuttack Attack

Cuttack: A tragic incident unfolded in Cuttack on Wednesday night when Sumanta Sahu, a youth from Gobindpur village in the Banki police station area, was allegedly beaten to death by a group of 11 individuals.
The 23-year-old had attended a fair at the Bada Bandiani Thakurani temple in Tigiria and was heading home when the attack occurred. The assailants, who had been waiting for him along the road, ambushed Sahu, using abusive language and provoking an argument. The confrontation escalated into a brutal assault, leaving Sahu severely injured and bleeding.
The attackers left Sahu by the roadside, where he was later found by his family. His mother and sister rushed him to Cuttack’s SCB Medical College and Hospital, but he was declared dead on arrival.
A formal complaint has been filed by Sumanta’s mother, Susama Sahu, at Banki police station. The Banki IIC has launched an investigation into the murder, and six suspects have been detained for questioning.
The incident has shaken the community, with residents expressing anger and concern over the brutal attack.
