Youth Dies During Gambling Raid in Sundargarh

Sundargarh: A youth died of a suspected heart attack after a police raid on a gambling den in Odisha’s Sundargarh district. The deceased, identified as Faisal from Banadurga Mandirpada area, had reportedly traveled to Tangargaon forest near the Jharkhand border with a large sum of money to participate in illegal gambling activities.

The incident unfolded when police raided a gambling den in the forest area of Tangargaon, arresting one individual while the others managed to escape. During the raid, five four-wheelers and six motorcycles were seized by the authorities.

Following the raid, it was reported that Faisal, who had been part of the gambling group, began feeling unwell. The other youths quickly rushed him to the district headquarters hospital, where he was declared dead on arrival. While the exact cause of death is yet to be confirmed, it is suspected that Faisal died of a heart attack, possibly triggered by panic during the police operation.

An investigation into the incident is underway.
