Yellow Alert Issued for Mayurbhanj, Balasore Over Thunderstorm Risk

Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Tuesday issued a yellow alert for Mayurbhanj and Balasore districts, warning of thunderstorms and heavy rain expected within the next three hours.

According to a nowcast warning issued at 11:45 AM, the IMD forecasted light to moderate thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and surface wind speeds of 30-40 kmph in isolated areas of both districts. Light to moderate rainfall is also likely during this period.

The IMD advised residents to remain alert and take necessary precautions, urging people to seek shelter in safe locations to avoid lightning-related risks.
