XIMB Row: ‘There is No Reason to be Panic’ Says BMC

Bhubaneswar (Reporters Today Bureau): The Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation sealed the entire Xavier Institute of Management, Bhubaneswar (XIMB) in a view of detection of a large number of covid- 19 positive cases and to prevent further spread of the virus. According to the sources around 20 students of the college have been in contact with the deadly virus.

“The XIMB campus has been sealed after some of its students and staff tested COVID-19 positive until further orders and nobody is allowed to enter the premises. In order to check the spread of Covid-19, a protocol has been put in place for sanitizing the college campus and all documents too,” said BMC Zonal Deputy Commissioner (North) Purandar Nanda.

A special team has been rushed to the campus to conduct tests on other students and staff of the college. For the RT-PCR test Swab samples were collected from students and staff of the institution and sent “There is no reason to be panic. The BMC has been keeping a close watch on the situation and taking precautionary measures to check the further spread of the virus,” Nanda informed.
