Worthless Love: Wife Killed in Valentine Week

Udala (Deepak Mishra): An incident today expressed the rudeness of love especially in the week of valentine. A minor girl who decided to get marry her lover at the age of 15 and left home with sacrificing all her familiar assets to stay together with her love was betrayed today. The cute love got the route of crime scene when the minor girl was found dead at her in-laws’ house yesterday, a month after her marriage, with her family members alleging it to be a case of murder.

The incident has been reported from Uparkhunta village under Kaptipada police station in Mayurbhanj district.

As per reports, the girl, a resident of Ranitala area in Bhadrak district had married her lover Rabi Khilar of Uparkhunta village around a month ago. Yesterday, her family members were informed about her death. Soon after, when the girl’s family reached her in-law’s house, they found her body lying on the floor with deep injury marks in her head and chest.

The family later lodged a complaint with police alleging that the deceased’s  husband had been demanding Rs 1 lakh as dowry ever since her marriage. Since they were not able to give the dowry money, Rabi had been torturing her physically and mentally.  Acting on the complaint, police detained the accused and are interrogating him in connection with the incident.
