Woman’s Body Found Hidden in Box Cot in Nabarangpur; Husband Absconding

Nabarangpur: A shocking incident has come to light in Haldi village under Chandahandi police limits, where the body of a woman was discovered hidden inside a box cot in her own home. The victim has been identified as Anita Sori, and her husband, Dushmanta Nayak, is currently missing, raising suspicions of murder.

According to locals, a foul smell began emanating from the locked house of Dushmanta Nayak, which had remained shut for two days. Concerned residents informed the Chandahandi Police, who rushed to the spot and broke open the lock to investigate.

While an initial inspection yielded no clues, a thorough search led to the grim discovery of Anita’s body, stuffed inside the storage compartment of a cot. Police suspect foul play, especially in light of Dushmanta’s sudden disappearance.

A scientific team has been dispatched to the scene to assist with forensic investigation. Meanwhile, a case has been registered, and police are carrying out further inquiries to uncover the motive and circumstances behind the suspected murder.
