Woman Stabbed to Death by Lover

Bhubaneswar: A youth allegedly stabbed a woman to death reportedly for refusing his love proposal in Mancheswar area of the capital city. The deceased has been identified as Bijayini Sahoo of Jagatsinghpur and was residing at GGP Colony in Rasulgarh area of the city.

As per reports, the accused, who works as a security guard in Bijayini’s office, had developed one-sided love for the victim and has been proposing to her. However, the victim did not reciprocate his feelings and was avoiding him. On Tuesday, a heated exchange of words ensued between the accused and the victim after he proposed to her again and she refused. Enraged over this, the accused stabbed Bijayini multiple times and fled from the spot.

Some locals alerted the police and rushed a profusely bleeding Bijayini to Capital Hospital for treatment. She was later shifted to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack as her health condition deteriorated. However, she succumbed to the injuries last night. A manhunt has been launched to apprehend the accused and further investigation into the matter is underway, said the police after registering a murder case.
