Woman Naxalite killed in encounter

Kanker: In a major success to the armed forces, a hardcore woman Naxalite was killed in a encounter in Kanker district of Chhattisgarh on Friday, said reports.

According to reports, on a woman Naxalite killed in an encounter with security personnel, Kanker SP Indira Kalyan Elesela told ANI, “Within the jurisdiction of Chhotebethiya police station, an encounter broke out between the Naxalites and security personnel.”

“Joint teams of District Reserve Guard (DRG) and Border Security Force (BSF) were also involved in the operation. We have recovered the body of a woman Naxalite. We have also recovered weapons from the spot,” the Kanker SP said.

Recently on March 30, the body of a female Naxal with a reward of Rs 25 lakh was recovered and a huge cache of arms was also recovered.

The cache of arms recovered along contained an INSAS rifle, ammunition and other items of daily use was recovered from the encounter site at Dantewada, said official reports in this regard.

The security forces under the DRG area had gone on an anti-Maoist operation in the areas of Geedam police station of the Dantewada district and Bhairamgarh police station of Bijapur border villages – Nelgoda, Akeli and Belnar.

The woman Naxal has been identified as Renuka alias Banu alias Chaite alias Saraswati. She was a resident of Kadvendi district, Warangal.
