Woman Killed, Four Injured in Jagatsinghpur Car Accident

Jagatsinghpur: In a tragic road mishap near Jayashol on the outskirts of Jagatsinghpur town, a woman lost her life and four others sustained injuries after a car plunged from a canal bridge on Friday night.

The vehicle, carrying a family returning from Cuttack to Sheikhpatna, reportedly lost control before falling off the bridge. The deceased has been identified as 36-year-old Jism Farana, a resident of Sheikhpatna, who died on the spot.

Local sources said all four injured persons were immediately rushed to the Jagatsinghpur District Headquarters Hospital. However, two of them, who suffered critical injuries, were later shifted to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack for advanced medical care.

The tragic incident has left the local community in shock, casting a pall of gloom over the area as residents mourn the loss and pray for the recovery of the injured.
