Woman Injured in Fire at Maa Tarini Temple

Ghatagan: A woman sustained severe burn injuries in a fire mishap at the Maa Tarini temple in Ghatagan, Keonjhar district, on Sunday night.

The victim, identified as Minakshi Baral of Kurunti village in Dhenkanal district, was lighting a deepa (lamp) at the temple’s stand when her saree accidentally caught fire from another nearby lamp. The flames quickly spread, leaving her critically injured.

Fellow devotees and temple priests rushed to her aid and immediately took her to Ghatagan Hospital. As her condition worsened, she was transferred to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack, where she is currently undergoing treatment.

Authorities have not issued further updates on her condition.
