Woman Drugs Fiancée at Engagement

Kendrapara: In a shocking incident, a woman allegedly drugged her boyfriend’s fiancée during his engagement ceremony in Odisha’s Kendrapara district on Wednesday.
According to reports, Kaifat Ali of Damarpur village had taken his family to Pattamundai for the engagement of his daughter. Following the ring exchange ceremony, they returned home, only to be met with alarming news.
During the engagement, a woman identified as Jasmin Bibi alias Muni reportedly arrived at Ali’s house in Damarpur with a young man. She allegedly offered a spiked drink to Ali’s daughter and forced her to consume it.
Soon after drinking the spiked beverage, the girl experienced a burning sensation in her abdomen and throat. Hearing her cries for help, neighbors rushed to the house and immediately took her to Pattamundai hospital. As her condition worsened, she was shifted to Kendrapara District Headquarters Hospital (DHH) for further treatment.
Meanwhile, tension gripped the area as locals detained Muni and the youth accompanying her, demanding an explanation for her actions. Muni later claimed that she had been in a relationship with the girl’s fiancé for several years and drugged the bride-to-be to “teach him a lesson.”
Authorities are investigating the incident.
