Woman Arrested for Defrauding Business Elite in Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: The Twin City Commissionerate Police have arrested a woman, Hansita Abhilipsa, for allegedly masterminding a fraud scheme that deceived prominent builders, mining operators, multinational corporation owners, and businessmen in Bhubaneswar.

Hansita, along with her accomplice Anil Mohanty, ran an office on Infocity-Nandankanan Road, where she posed as an associate of top politicians and bureaucrats in Odisha. Claiming to have influential connections, she promised to secure lucrative tenders for her victims.

The scam came to light after a mine owner filed a complaint, leading to the arrest of Hansita and Anil. Reports suggest that Hansita manipulated photographs to show herself alongside powerful figures, which she used to manipulate wealthy businessmen, particularly in the mining and construction industries.

Police are continuing their investigation to determine whether other individuals were involved in the scheme.
