Winter Session of parliament begins

New Delhi, Dec 11: Winter session of Parliament began today, coinciding with election results in 5 states.

The government is likely to face opposition wrath over the exit to RBI governor Urjit Patel, the Rafale deal and the shuffling in CBI.

The ruling BJP is expected to highlight the fact that the government managed to extradite Christian Michel, the alleged middleman in the Rs. 3,600 crore Agusta Westland chopper deal and the successful pursuing of fugitive tycoon Vijay Mallya‘s extradition case.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi said, “This session is important; many issues of public importance will be taken up. I have faith that all the members of the parliament will respect this sentiment and move ahead. Our efforts are that discussions are held on all issues.”
