Bhubaneswar: From rain to lightning and thunderstorm to gusty surface wind, Odisha is all set to witness intensive weather conditions in the next five days, predicted the regional centre of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) today.
As predicted by the weather department, the weather activities are likely to continue till 8.30 AM of June 19. The IMD also has issued yellow and orange warnings for the same.
Day 1 (Valid upto 8.30 AM of June 15):
- Yellow Warning: Thunderstorm with lightning with gusty surface wind speed reaching 30-40 kmph and heavy rainfall very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Gajapati, Ganjam, Rayagada, Koraput, Malkanigiri, Mayurbhanj, Kalahandi and Kandhamal.
- Thunderstorm with lightning with gusty surface wind speed reaching 30-40 kmph very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Bargarh, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Sonepur, Boudh, Nuapada, Balangir, Nabarangpur.
Day 2 (Valid from 8.30 AM of June 15 to 8.30 AM of June 16):
- Yellow Warning: Thunderstorm with lightning with gusty surface wind speed reaching 30-40 kmph & Heavy Rainfall very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Gajapati, Rayagada, Kalahandi, Koraput.
- Thunderstorm with lightning with gusty surface wind speed reaching 30-40 kmph very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Bargarh, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Sonepur, Boudh, Nuapada, Balangir, Kandhamal, Nabarangpur and Malkangiri.

- Orange Warning: Thunderstorm with lightning with gusty surface wind speed reaching 30-40 kmph & Heavy to very heavy rainfall very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Sundargarh, Keonjhar.
- YELLOW WARNING: Thunderstorm with lightning with gusty surface wind speed reaching 30-40 kmph & Heavy rainfall very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Mayurbhanj,Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Dhenkanal, Gajapati, Rayagada and Koraput .
- Thunderstorm with lightning with gusty surface wind speed reaching 30-40 kmph very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Jharsuguda, Bargarh, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Angul, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Sonepur, Boudh, Nuapada, Balangir, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Nabarangpur and Malkangiri.
