Weak, helpless & deceptive budget: PCC President Das

Bhubaneswar: the new PCC president Bhakta Charan Das has described the Budget for 2025-26, as presented by Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi in Odisha Assembly on Monday as ‘weak, helpless and deceptive.’

In his response to the proposals, he said that the Odisha government is threatening the people by increasing the interest rate by at least Rs. 44,400 crore.
“It is impossible to fully develop the state by terrorizing the people. The state government is unable to reduce regional disparities in the Aadivasi district. The budget has little focus on improving the quality of life of the people,” he said.
The PCC president said that Mission Shakti women have been completely neglected and the growth in small and medium industries, agriculture has declined.
“This budget is low on self-confidence but high in publicity,” he added.
“It is very unfortunate that the inflation rate in the state has reached 6.5pc. Creating employment and keeping in mind all the promises made during the elections to provide employment to the unemployed youth group, the lack of tangible steps proves that the state budget is anti-people and weak Budget,” he said.
