The iconic star breathed his last at Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital in Mumbai after battling a prolonged illness.Filmmaker Ashoke Pandit confirmed the news, calling it a “great loss to the industry.” He recalled Kumar’s deep love for cinema and music, adding, “He was a nationalistic filmmaker who truly knew what India was.”Prime Minister Narendra Modi also paid tribute on X, writing, “Deeply saddened by the passing of legendary actor and filmmaker Shri Manoj Kumar Ji… His works ignited a spirit of national pride and will continue to inspire generations.”Manoj Kumar’s cinematic journey was marked by unforgettable films like Upkar, Purab Aur Paschim, and Roti Kapda Aur Makaan, which resonated deeply with Indian audiences.
