Two ISIS terrorists arrested near Red Fort
The Islamic State of Jammu and Kashmir is allegedly a new outfit owing allegiance to ISIS. Two alleged operatives of the Islamic State in Jammu & Kashmir (ISJK), returning to the state with weapons they had picked up from Uttar Pradesh, were arrested near the Red Fort by the special cell, police said Friday.
The two suspects, identified as Parvez Ahmed Lone, 24 and Jamshed Zahoor, 19, from Ganapora village in Kashmir’s Shopian, were arrested from the Jama Masjid bus stop on Thursday night, deputy commissioner of police, special cell, PS Kushwaha said, reported IANS. Two .32 pistols, 10 bullets and four mobile phones were seized from them.
“They were to board a bus back to Jammu and Kashmir with the weapons they collected from Amroha, Uttar Pradesh. “Delhi was not a part of their plan, they were just in transit here. They told us that the leader of the outfit (ISJK) is Umar Ibn Nazir and the number 2 leader is Adil Thokar, whose orders they were following,” he said. Lone, whose brother was gunned down in an encounter with security forces in January, was initially a member of Hizbul Mujahideen but later joined the ISJK, Kushwaha said. While Lone is a M.Tech student, Zahoor is enrolled in a PG diploma course.
