Two Injured Odisha Teens Brought Back from Sikkim Bus Tragedy

Bhubaneswar: Two minor boys from Odisha, who were critically injured in the tragic Teesta river bus accident in Sikkim on May 29, were brought back to Bhubaneswar today for further medical treatment.
The boys, identified as Sairaj Jena (17) and Supreet Nayak (16), arrived at Bhubaneswar Railway Station by train and were immediately shifted to AIIMS-Bhubaneswar for advanced care.
The incident occurred when a tourist bus carrying several passengers plunged into the Teesta river. Four tourists from Odisha, including BJP leader Itishree Jena (42) and her elder son Sahil Jena (20), went missing in the accident. Itishree’s younger son Sairaj and his friend Supreet were rescued from the site in critical condition and had been receiving treatment in Sikkim until now.
Following the instructions of Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, Transport Minister Bibhuti Bhushan Jena facilitated the evacuation of the injured boys from Sikkim. The Odisha government had also dispatched two officials to coordinate with local authorities in the northeastern state to ensure proper rescue and medical support.
The return of the two boys marks a crucial step in their recovery, as the search for the missing passengers continues.
