Two Cops Stabbed During Family Feud in Koida

Koida (Sundargarh): Tension gripped the C-block area of Tensa under Koida block in Odisha’s Sundargarh district after two police personnel sustained serious injuries in a knife attack while trying to resolve a clash between two families on Tuesday.
The injured officers have been identified as constables Pruthviraj Parida and Shri Routray, both posted at the Tensa police outpost.
According to reports, the constables rushed to the spot after receiving information about a violent altercation between two families. Upon arrival, they attempted to pacify both sides and disarm a person brandishing an axe. However, in the ensuing chaos, another individual from one of the families reportedly attacked the officers with a knife, leaving both constables seriously injured.
Following the attack, other personnel from the outpost rushed to the scene and shifted the injured constables to Tensa Hospital. One of the constables was later referred to Rourkela Government Hospital after his condition worsened.
Police have detained members of both families involved in the dispute for questioning. An investigation is currently underway.
“Strict action will be taken against those involved in the attack on the on-duty police personnel,” officials stated.
