Two Bengal Youths Held for Attempted Kidnapping in Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: In a shocking incident, the Khandagiri police have detained two youths from West Bengal for allegedly attempting to abduct a minor girl in the Dumduma area of Bhubaneswar late Sunday night.
The accused, identified as Gopal Majumdar and Mrityunjay Ghosh, both hailing from the Medinipur region of West Bengal, were reportedly working as labourers at a local hotel. According to preliminary reports, the duo allegedly sedated the girl before trying to kidnap her while she was unconscious.
Their plan was thwarted when alert locals intervened, rescued the girl, and detained the suspects before handing them over to the police.
Initial investigation suggests that both men were heavily intoxicated during the incident. The minor girl has been shifted to AIIMS Bhubaneswar for medical examination and treatment.
While police have not confirmed any sexual assault, concerned residents fear that the accused may have intended to commit such a crime. Authorities have assured that a detailed medical and forensic investigation is underway to determine the facts.
Police have begun interrogating the accused and are also verifying their backgrounds, including any possible links to similar crimes in the past. Further investigation is in progress.
