Two Arrested in Gajapati Acid Attack

Bhubaneswar: Odisha police have arrested two individuals in connection with the acid attack on a lawyer in Gajapati district in November 2024.

The arrested suspects have been identified as D. Ventak Rao from Paralakhemundi and Duda Satisha from Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh. The police seized a bike and a mobile phone from the accused during their arrest.

The attack occurred on November 9, 2024, at Jangam Sahi, under the Paralakhemundi police limits. The two assailants approached the residence of P. Rama Rao, a local lawyer, on a bike and rang the doorbell. As soon as Rao opened the door, the duo threw acid on him and fled the scene.

Following the incident, the police registered a case based on the victim’s complaint. A special investigation team was formed, and the police examined local CCTV footage to assist in identifying the suspects.
