Tusker Dies Under Treatment in Sundargarh
Sundargarh: An elephant undergoing treatment in the Khesara forest of Banki Range, under K Balanga police imits in Sundargarh district, tragically passed away on Wednesday. Initially spotted in the localities under Koida Range, the ailing tusker later wandered into Banki Range.
Local residents alerted Forest Department officials as the elephant’s condition deteriorated. Upon receiving the information, the department located the animal and administered tranquilizers before commencing treatment. Despite their efforts, the elephant succumbed to its injuries during the treatment process on Wednesday.
Following standard procedure, the department conducted a post-mortem and buried the animal. The exact cause of death will be determined once the post-mortem report is available, according to forest department sources.
