Train Services in Odisha Partially Resumed After Cyclone Dana

Bhubaneswar: Following the landfall of Cyclone Dana earlier today, the East Coast Railway (ECoR) has announced the resumption of train services on select routes in Odisha, although several trains remain cancelled. The ECoR confirmed that most trains are now operating as scheduled, apart from those previously reported as cancelled.

Services from Visakhapatnam to Bhubaneswar and Howrah are running on time, and trains heading from Kharagpur to Visakhapatnam are anticipated to reach Bhadrak Railway Station around 2:00 PM. Additionally, trains departing from Bhubaneswar to Puri are set to resume after 12:00 PM, excluding any cancellations.

So far, a total of 203 trains traversing Odisha have been cancelled due to the effects of Cyclone Dana, which made landfall along the coast this morning. The storm has since weakened and is currently classified as a cyclonic system over north coastal Odisha.

According to the latest update from the India Meteorological Department (IMD), Cyclone Dana is moving north-northwestward at a speed of 10 km/h, situated approximately 30 km northeast of Bhadrak and 50 km north-northwest of Dhamra. It is projected to continue moving northwest and gradually weaken into a deep depression over the next six hours.
