Toddler Abducted from Pavement Near Ram Mandir; Police Launch Rescue Operation

Bhubaneswar: The Commissionerate Police has launched a massive search operation to trace and rescue a 1.5-year-old boy who was allegedly abducted from outside the Ram Mandir in Bhubaneswar on Saturday night. The child is the son of a visually-challenged woman who was sleeping on the pavement near the temple when the incident occurred.
According to police, the woman, who survives by seeking alms, discovered her child missing when she woke up. An unidentified individual is suspected to be behind the abduction.
Speaking to the media, Bhubaneswar Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Jagmohan Meena confirmed that a case has been registered and multiple teams have been formed to trace the toddler. “We are using both human and technical intelligence to rescue the child. Efforts are on in full swing, and we are doing our best to ensure the child’s safe return,” he said.
The incident has raised concerns about safety in public spaces, especially for the vulnerable sections of society. Police are reviewing CCTV footage from the surrounding areas and appealing to the public to come forward with any information that may help in the investigation.
