Titli-affected to get houses
Bhubaneswar: As the State Government gears up its machinery to help the people affected by severe cyclonic storm Titli in October this year, the Chief Minister ordered allocation of Biju Pucca Ghar to all the affected families.
As per government statistics, houses of 13,000 families of 11 districts in Odisha have been completely damaged due to the ravaging cyclone Titli that hit the State on October 11.
Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today directed to allot Biju Pucca Ghar to each of the affected family who has lost their houses in the natural disaster.
The Chief Minister has also directed to issue all the work orders on a specific date in all the blocks in order to maintain transparency and speed of implementation.
It has also been decided that both the local traders and the local self help groups (SHGs) should be entrusted with the preparation of the construction materials meant for these Biju Pucca Ghars.
The State government will seek the help of United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) to provide livelihood facility to the affected persons , provide training to the masons and facilitate the making of the constructional materials.
