Titans defeat Kings by 5 wickets

Gujarat Titans began the defence of their title with a five-wicket win over Chennai Super Kings in the IPL opener on the starting day.

Opener Ruturaj Gaikwad cracked a blistering 92 off 50 balls to power Chennai Super Kings to 178/7 after being asked to bat. Titans achieved the target with 4 balls to spare after losing 5 wickets.

Shubman Gill was the top scorer for the Titans, scoring a 36-ball 63.

That’s the end of the first game of IPL 2023. With 8 runs needed off the first ball, Rahul Tewatia once again rises up to the occasion and finished off in style. He fires a six and follows it with a boundary straight down the ground to take Gujarat Titans home. Tough day for Tushar Deshpande.
