Tigress Zeenat unwell

Bhubaneswar: The health condition of Zeenat is said to be deteriorating. Zeenat was shot 3 times to tranquilize her. It is said that due to the effect of the tranquilizer the tigress fell ill. A 12-member team has been given the responsibility of treating and observing Zeenat at the Alipore Zoo in Kolkata.

According to reports, her body is completely weak. A decision will be taken after the medical examination today regarding when the tigress will return to Odisha. So, the question has arisen as to where she will be kept after she recovers. The forest department is thinking whether she will be kept in a soft enclosure or sent to some other sanctuary.

It is worth mentioning that, Zeenat was tranquilized on Sunday in the forest near Gosaindihi in Bankura district of West Bengal. Zeenat came to Similipal from Tadoba-Dhanari Tiger Reserve in Maharashtra on November 14. She was brought to Similipal Sanctuary with the aim of increasing the tiger population.

Reports said, she was initially kept in a separate enclosure for ten days. However later, she left Shimlipal on December 8 and entered the Chakuliya forest of Jharkhand. After roaming there for a week, Zeenat headed towards Jhargram in West Bengal. The tigress then was captured after 21 days of toil by the forest department.
