Tight Security for Muharram Procession in Balasore

Balasore: As part of the 8th day of Muharram observance, a total of 15 Akhada and Tazia processions emerged from their respective localities in Balasore late Saturday night. The processions began around 10 PM and proceeded toward Dargha Maidan, where they culminated and dispersed peacefully.

To ensure public safety and maintain law and order, extensive police arrangements were put in place. Police officers and personnel were deployed to escort each Akhada and Tazia from their origin points to the final dispersal site. The forces also managed traffic and controlled crowd movement along the procession routes.

Senior police officials confirmed that all necessary precautions had been taken to prevent any untoward incidents during the event. The Eastern Range Deputy Inspector General (DIG), Satyajit Naik, personally monitored the entire situation to ensure smooth coordination and peaceful conduct of the religious observance.

The Muharram processions concluded in a disciplined and orderly manner under the strict vigil of law enforcement authorities.
