Thunderstorm, Lightning Likely in Eight Odisha Districts on April 5: IMD

Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted thunderstorms with lightning and gusty winds in at least eight districts of Odisha on April 5 (Saturday).
According to the latest IMD forecast, thunderstorms with lightning and surface winds reaching 30-40 km per hour are likely to occur in parts of Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Rayagada, Koraput, and Malkangiri. Additionally, light to moderate rain or thundershowers may affect these districts on Saturday.
In the past 24 hours, light to moderate rainfall was recorded in parts of Keonjhar, Nabarangpur, Malkangiri, Koraput, Sundargarh, Bargarh, and Kalahandi, while coastal Odisha remained mostly dry.
The IMD further stated that no significant change in maximum temperatures is expected in the next two days. However, a gradual rise of 2-3°C in daytime temperatures is anticipated across the state thereafter.
