Three Held in Builder Sasmit Biswal Murder Case

Bhubaneswar: In a major breakthrough in the murder case of city-based builder Sasmit Biswal, the Bhubaneswar-Cuttack Commissionerate Police have arrested three accused from the Airfield police limits.

The arrested individuals have been identified as Gulu Mohanty, Silu alias Manoj Behera, and Sukanta Behera—residents of Pradhan Sahi in Bhubaneswar. They were initially detained and have now been forwarded to court, police officials confirmed on Saturday.

According to the police, a total of seven individuals are involved in the crime. While three have been arrested, four others are still absconding. A special police team has been formed to trace and nab the remaining accused.

Biswal was allegedly attacked by a group of youths in the Airfield area, resulting in his death. Preliminary investigations point to a land dispute as the motive behind the murder.

A case (No. 105/2025) has been registered at the Airfield Police Station, and further investigation is currently underway.
