Thousands Gather at Baba Dhabaleswar Shrine for ‘Bada Osa’
Cuttack: The revered shrine of Baba Dhabaleswar in Athagarh, Cuttack district, witnessed a large turnout of devotees today on the occasion of ‘Bada Osa’. As part of the festivities, the deity will be adorned in the special ‘Bada Singhar Besa’ for devotees.
The temple administration has implemented extensive arrangements to ensure a smooth and disciplined darshan. Observing the traditional rituals of ‘Trayadashi’ followed by ‘Chaturdashi,’ devotees will receive the sacred offerings of ‘Gajabhoga’ and ‘Tarana’ as prasad. These offerings will be distributed to those fasting for ‘Bada Osa’, who will break their fast with this sacred meal.
The day’s rituals began early at 3:00 a.m., with the deity being bathed in 108 earthen pots filled with fragrant water. Special oil known as ‘mailam’ was then applied, followed by the Mangal Arati. After the ceremonial rituals, the temple doors were opened to allow devotees to offer prayers and receive the prasad of ‘Gajabhoga’ and ‘Tarana’.
