Temperatures may touch 45 degrees

Bhubaneswar: Severe heat wave is returning to Odisha again. Due to the rains in the state under the influence of norwester or Kalbaisakhi, the heat wave had subsided to some extent for a few days but now is returning to the state again.

As per the MeT speculation heat wave will continue in Odisha till next week. Today, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khordha, Nayagarh, Ganjam and Gajapati are likely to experience unbearable heat and muggy conditions.

On 10th and 11th May, heat wave will be experienced in some places in Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Balangir, Boudh districts and hot and humid conditions in one or two places in Gajapati district.

The Regional Meteorological Center has issued a yellow warning as heat wave is likely to continue in most places in Odisha between 12th and 14th May.

Temperatures have risen by 2 to 3 degrees in many parts of the state in the last 24 hours. The mercury is likely to touch 45 degrees in the future. Sambalpur was the hottest city on Wednesday, crossing 40 degrees.
