Teen Ends Life After Gaming Argument in Sundargarh

Sundargarh: A 15-year-old boy allegedly took his own life following an argument with his mother over mobile gaming in Chardihariharpur village under Kuarmunda police limits in Odisha’s Sundargarh district.
The deceased, identified as Dinabandhu Kisan, was a Class-10 student and the son of Surendra Kisan. According to reports, Dinabandhu was playing games on his mobile phone on Saturday evening instead of preparing for his upcoming board exams. His mother reprimanded him and advised him to focus on his studies.
Upset by the incident, the teenager locked himself in his study room. When he failed to come out after a long time, his family members became suspicious. They broke open the door and found him hanging from the ceiling with a scarf.
Police were informed, and an unnatural death case has been registered. The body was sent for post-mortem and later handed over to the family.
The incident has left the local community in shock, casting a pall of gloom over the area. Authorities have urged parents and guardians to approach such matters with sensitivity to prevent similar tragedies.
