STF arrests Home guard for illegal mining quarry

Bhubaneswar: Today Special Task Force (STF), Crime Branch has arrested Home guard Chittaranjan Badajena.

Chittaranjan was posted in Khordha Police Station. He was arrested in STF PS Case No. 07/2019 U/S 379/ 411/467/468/471/120(B)/34 IPC r/w Arms Act R/w 3/4/5 Explosive Substance Act. Chittaranjan entered into conspiracy with certain criminals to illegally conduct quarry operations from the land of Shree Jagannath Temple, Puri situated in Khordha. Chittaranjan is the resident of Nalipada, Arjunpur of Khordha dist.

Police said that several gangs are operating stone crushers in and around Khordha area a without any authority or without paying any royalty to the government and thereby cause serious financial loss to the exchequer.
