Soro Girl Rape Case

Soro: In an incident, a case was registered on the written report of Bhagirathi Nayak S/o. late Kangali Nayak of vill; Siali, PS: Soro, regarding missing of his daughter Jyotsna Nayak aged 27 yrs., and enquired into. During enquiry, on 10.02.2025 evening received information over telephone from Anankapalli Rural Police Station that the missing girl was found and rescued incritical condition from Sankaram village Bus stop near NH-16 and hospitalised. Soon after receiptof the information as per direction of SP, Balasore, a dedicated team was formed to proceed to Anankapalli, led by Inspector Alok Kumar Behera.

The police team arrived at Anakapalli and conducted preliminary enquiry and found that the victim is getting treatment at NTR, Hospital, Anakapalli in critical condition having grievous injuries. The victim girl is guarded by Soro PS staff and under supervision of Soro Police. On being examined the victim stated that she was kidnapped by the accused person Katiya @ Nishikanta Mahalik in a bolero pick-up vehicle and on the way theaccused assaulted her brutally and tried to commit sexual assault too. Then the accused person dumped her from the vehicle by the side of the road near Sankaram village by the side of NH-16 and snatched her mobile away. Basing on the statement of the victim, Anakapalli Rural PS registered the Zero FIR vide Case No 00/2025 U/s. 64(1/ 137(2)/ 74/ 308(2)/ 118(2) BNS on dt-11.02.2025 and transferred to Soro Police station for registration of the case.

On 12.02.2025 at 2.15 PM, on receipt of Zero FIR. from IIC., Anakpalli Rural PS. Dist; Anakpalli, Andhra Pradesh, Soro PS Case No- 131/25 U/s 64(1)/ 137(2)/ 74/ 308(2)/ 118(2) BNS was registered. The case was entrusted to Inspector A.K.Behera to take up investigation of the case. During investigation as per the direction of SP, Balasore, the I.O. apprehended the accused person through local intelligence and technical aid and seized the conveyance used for the crime as well as the mobile phone of the victim from the possession of the accused person. Then the accused person was produced before. THE HONOURABLE COURT, AT-ANAKAPALLI and brought to Balasore on transit remand. Then the accused person was interrogated and sent to jail custody. Now, due to the serious condition of the victim, she is referred to KGH, Vizag from NTR, Hospital, Anakapalli for better treatment. The victim girl was guarded by Soro PS staff and now under constant supervision of Balasore Police. The further investigation is going on.
