The department has sent directives to college principals, urging them to conduct an immediate evaluation of deteriorating infrastructure, including classrooms, laboratories, office buildings, and lavatories.

“It has come to notice that several colleges may have infrastructure in dilapidated conditions, which could become unsafe for students, teachers, and staff. Such buildings must be assessed and declared unsafe by the competent authority and reported immediately.”

College authorities have also been encouraged to submit financial requisitions for renovation and construction work to address infrastructure deficiencies. The government has assured prompt measures to tackle any safety hazards and ensure the well-being of students and faculty members.

This issue was previously raised in the legislative assembly, highlighting the urgent need for action. The department has stressed the importance of swiftly identifying hazardous buildings and taking corrective measures to prevent potential risks.

With these proactive steps, the government aims to enhance the safety and sustainability of educational institutions across the state.
