Shraddha Kapoor to star in Remo D’Souza’s dance film?
Mumbai,Dec 31:
When Remo D’Souza announced the colloaboration of Varun Dhawan and Katrina Kaif on the big screen for his biggest dance film ever, cinephiles couldn’t keep calm. It is not every day that you get to see two of the best dancers in the film industry burn the dance floor together. But a few days before the film was set to go on floors, Katrina shocked everyone by opting out of the big-budget project.
Citing hectic schedule of Bharat as the reason, Katrina has bowed out of the film.
Katrina’s official spokesperson on Saturday shared the update on the project with a statement.
“Katrina Kaif had to opt out of Remo D’Souza’s upcoming dance film owing to her hectic schedule for Bharat. Katrina has always been a thorough professional. She decided to step out of the film as her dates were clashing with Bharat, which she is currently shooting for. She wishes the team all the best,” read the statement.
And now a day after the news spread like wildfire, rumour has it that Shraddha Kapoor might replace Katrina in the dance film.
According to a report in a leading daily, the makers are keen to rope in Shraddha for the film as the actress has worked with Varun and Remo in ABCD 2.
A source told the daily that while Jacqueline Fernandez and Kriti Sanon were also being considered for the part, Kapoor unanimously emerged as the frontrunner.
However, producer Bhushan Kumar refused to divulge any details and said that they are still looking for a female lead after Katrina’s exit.
“Many female actors want to work in it. We are still analysing who would fit the role and will finalise a name in a few days,” said Bhushan.
The first schedule of the film is set to start in Amritsar on January 22. After which the film will be shot in London in February. Then there’s another leg in Mumbai in July. The makers are eyeing November 2019 release for the film.
