Senior Assistant in Vigilance Net

Nuapada: The Vigilance officials on Wednesday apprehended one senior assistant for demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 20,000. Vigilance official arrested the accused Sanjaya Kumar Bag who is working in the office of DFO (territorial), Khariar Forest Division in Nuapada district. Bag has demanded bribe from a complainant for processing pension paper documents and facilitating the release of retirement benefits in favour of his sister following her voluntary retirement in the year 2022.

The entire bribe money has been recovered from the accused Bag and seized. Following the trap, simultaneous searches are going on at two locations of Bag from the disproportionate assent angle. In this connection, a case has been registered. An investigation is in progress against the accused, said the Vigilance.
