Security Tightened in Balasore After Pahalgam Terror Attack Alert

Bhubaneswar: In the wake of the recent terror attack in Pahalgam, Balasore police have stepped up security across 10 key locations in the district to bolster public safety and prevent any potential threats.
The security measures follow an alert issued by the Intelligence Department. Acting promptly, the district police have deployed additional personnel and established strict checkpoints at critical roads and border areas, particularly along National Highway No. 60.
Among the high-alert zones are Laxmannath and Bhograi, located near the Odisha–West Bengal border, which have been identified as sensitive due to their strategic location and proximity to potential entry points for illicit activities.
All vehicles traveling towards West Bengal are undergoing rigorous inspections. Police officials are conducting mandatory checks at all major entry points, along with random checks in the identified sensitive areas. Authorities have clearly stated that no vehicle will be allowed to pass without thorough scrutiny.
In addition to land-based surveillance, marine police have been deployed to patrol coastal areas amid rising concerns about possible threats via sea routes. Marine police stations at Kasafal and Talsari are actively monitoring the waterways to prevent any unauthorized crossings or maritime security breaches.
Police are also closely tracking suspicious movements and individuals, especially along the Udaipur border and nearby coastal belts, as part of the intensified security operation.
