Security Strengthened in Srimandir

Puri: The security of Puri Srimandir  has been strengthened and the Swatantra Shree Mandir Surakshay Bahini  after recent Kashmir terror attack and to take charge by April 28.

According to reports, a big step has been taken by the state government for the security and safety of the temple. The Swatantra Shree Mandir Surakshay Bahini shall be deployed along with one commandant, two deputy commandants and three assistant commandants.  The Additional DG of the Odisha Police has issued clear instructions to the special team to join duty or take charge before April 28.

Tapas Ranjan Das has been appointed as the commandant of the Swatantra Shree Mandir Surakshay Bahini (SSMSV). The increasing number of devotees in the temple with each passing day has become a major challenge for the government and the administration.

Therefore, the state government has decided to make many changes in the darshan system so as to provide orderly and safe darshan to the devotees. A special team named Swatantra Shrimandir Suraksha Bahini will be responsible for the security and order of the temple. Police officers with experience in the battalion will be brought on deputation for three years.

Reports say that, one Commandant, two Deputy Commandants, three Assistant Commandants, eight Inspectors, 31 Sub Inspectors, 24 Assistant Sub Inspectors of the State Armed Cadre will be appointed.

Therefore, the security in Puri Jagannath temple will be managed by the SSMSV. This security force will be engaged in anti-terrorist operations, with emphasis on streamlined darshan, security of Sri gundicha Temple, Parikrama Project, Mausi Maa Temple. Although it was earlier planned to appoint 1083 people, now it has been revealed that this number will be more than 1200.

It is believed that this armed security force deployment will be effective as the state government is planning to implement a systematic darshan system very soon.
