Schools reopen in Odisha today

Bhubaneswar: After the summer break, schools in Odisha are set to reopen today, with the exception of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack, where institutions will remain closed due to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit. Additionally, schools in Jajpur and Bhadrak districts will also stay shut today owing to a recent diarrhoea outbreak.
As per the Mass Education Department, schools across the state will operate from 10 am to 4 pm, with precautions in place to prevent the spread of diarrhoea. To ensure student safety, guidelines have been issued to maintain cleanliness in school campuses, and hot, hygienic mid-day meals will be served along with boiled water.
In Bhubaneswar and Cuttack, schools will reopen on June 21, while government offices and Revenue and Executive Magistrate Courts in the twin cities will remain shut in the second half today due to the PM’s visit.
The department has also instructed district collectors to monitor the situation in diarrhoea-affected areas and take necessary decisions regarding school closures.
