Schools, Colleges, Anganwadi Centres in Jajpur, Bhadrak dists to remain shut due to diarrhoea

Bhubaneswar: All schools and Anganwadi centres in Jajpur district will remain closed till the 24th June as per order by the District Collector.

Similarly, in Bhadrak district, the district administration has declared a two-day holiday for all schools and colleges in view of the diarrhoea outbreak, with Bhadrak District Collector Dilip Routray announcing the closure for June 20th and 21st June.

Government schools across the State except Cuttack and Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation areas will open from tomorrow. However, keeping in mind the situation in the diarrhea-affected districts, the District Collector will take a decision on school closure. The respective District Collector can keep the school closed if the situation warrants it – said Nityanand Gond, the Minister of Schools and Mass Education.

In schools where there is no Aquaguard, it has been ordered to provide hot food for lunch to children along with boiled water.

Similarly, the same system will be adopted in the hostels. Emphasis will be given on cleaning the school environment and water tanks. Fast food shops will remain closed outside the school. Parents will be called to the school and made aware. The Minister has ordered to emphasize on the cleanliness of the school.
