Sasmit Patra Nominated as Vice-Chairman Panel of RS

New Delhi/Bhubaneswar (Reporters Today Bureau): Dr Sasmit Patra, the Rajya Sabha member from the ruling Biju Janata Dal was nominated to the Vice-Chairman Panel of the parliament of Rajya Sabha. Other than Sasmit, five other MPs have been nominated to the Vice-Chairmen Panel by the Chairman.

As per reports Sasmit is the first Odia Parliamentarian to be nominated to the Panel in last two decades.

The post holds significance the Odia member will be presiding over the Rajya Sabha during the Session as and when required by the house Chairman.
