Samir Mohanty, The New Boss of Odisha BJP

Reporters Today, Bhubaneswar: Senior party leader Samir Mohanty was elected unopposed as the president of Odisha BJP today. He reportedly had the unanimous support of the district presidents and state party council members.

It is after 14 years that a leader from the coastal Odisha has been picked for the top post of the party in the state. Samir had been continuing as the Vice President of the BJP state unit post since 2014.

He replaces Basanta Panda, who was elected Member of Parliament from Kalahandi during 2019 general elections. The party had earlier announced election for the post on January 17 and the nomination process for the election was scheduled to be held today at the party headquarters in the presence of central observers for organizational polls – Narendra Singh Tomar and Rajiv Pratap Rudy.
