Sambalpur: Police SI Suspended for Negligence in Duty

Sambalpur (Reporters Today): A police Sub Inspector has been suspended for negligence in his duty. The suspended cop has been identified as Jugal Kishore Sa, Sub Inspector, Ainthapalli Police Station, Sambalpur.

As per the charge against the SI, he had been assigned with the duty of carrying out a probe into the murder of an elderly woman of Budharaja area four months back and told to submit the report within 120 days. The woman had been killed by a tenant namely Sourabh, who had strangulated her before stabbing to death.

After Jugal took 121 days to submit the investigation report, the accused managed to get a bail from the court. Holding Jugal responsible for the grant of bail to the accused, Sambalpur SP Kanwar Vishal Singh suspended him yesterday.
